Cuban Morrell talent is proud that the fighting is still on for Saturday because he wants to perform, and has gone through a long training camp to prepare for the Khatev competitor who has a top 10 rank.
This is Morrell’s first battle back since losing his 175-weight WBA ‘regular’ title to David Benavidez last February. He wants to show that he has improved. Morrell says he changed his personality after that loss and will be a different fighter.
Khatev’s weight

Morrell’s new fighting style
Morrell will have to change his style for him on Saturday against Khataev, and deal with a boxer boxer like Dmitry Bivol. Also, it’s going to meet Benavidez again eventually, and can’t fight the same way
“I feel bad for him,” said Morrell about his opponent, Imam Khatev, getting a two -year ban for proving positive for a banned four. “Why do you need something for fighting? It’s strange. I want to (still) fight it Saturday night.
“I had a bad experience. What is more important is for me to focus on myself,” Morrell said of his loss to Benavidez.
